How Betregions researches, writes, reviews, updates and corrects its country guides.

Sources

Every factual statement in a country guide should be traceable to a source. The main ones are:

  • Registers of licensed operators published by national regulators, such as the Gaming Commission of Ghana, the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya, the Gaming Board of Tanzania, the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board in Uganda, the Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority, the Gambling Authority of Botswana, the National Gambling Board of South Africa, the ARJH in Côte d’Ivoire and LONASE in Senegal.
  • Laws, finance acts and tax authority notices for legal and tax points.
  • Operators’ own websites, terms and help pages for products, payment methods, currencies and offer terms, together with country-specific offer details that operators supply to us as partners.

Facts and figures

  • We state a bonus amount, minimum deposit, payout time or licence only when it comes from a source we can point to. If we cannot confirm it for a country, we leave the figure out or describe the offer in general terms.
  • We do not publish scores, star ratings or awards.
  • Licence information is presented as fact: who holds which licence, issued by whom. Brands licensed abroad are described by the licence they state on their own websites.
  • Legal ages, tax rates and dates are given as they apply on the date shown in the guide’s “last reviewed” line.

Who writes our guides

All guides are researched, written and updated by the Betregions Editorial Team, which is responsible for everything published on the site. Each guide shows the date it was last updated. The editorial team and process page explains how we work.

How sites are listed

The bookmakers in our tables are brands we work with commercially, as explained in our affiliate disclosure. The order in each table is our editorial choice for that market; it is not a score. Licence, payments, bonus terms, withdrawals, mobile experience and sports coverage are shown side by side so that readers can compare sites themselves.

Other bookmakers may be mentioned in a guide when they help explain the local market, for example as well-known licensed brands. They are not linked and do not appear in our tables.

Updates

Guides are updated when offers, licences, laws, taxes or payment options change, and the “updated” date at the top of each guide shows when it was last changed. Older information is replaced rather than left on the page.

Corrections

If you find an error, email [email protected] with the page address and, if possible, a link to the source that shows the correct information. We check the claim against the source, correct the guide if it is wrong and update its date.

Language

Guides are written in English, except for Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Senegal, where they are written in French. We use the payment names, league names and betting terms that readers in each country use.

Responsible gambling

Every guide includes safer-gambling advice and lists the local helplines and self-exclusion services we have been able to verify for that market. We do not present betting as a way to make money. See our responsible gambling page for support in each market.
