About Betregions

Betregions publishes country-by-country guides to betting sites in Africa. Each guide explains how betting works in one market: who licenses bookmakers, which payment methods work, how welcome offers are structured, how winnings are taxed and where to find help.

What we cover

Betting rules change at every border. A bookmaker can hold a licence in one country and operate under an international licence in the next; mobile money dominates in one market and bank transfers or vouchers in another; tax can be charged on deposits, on winnings or not at all. Our guides are written market by market so that these differences are clear.

Country guides are currently available for Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Senegal. The guides for Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Senegal are published in French.

Who writes our guides

Our guides are researched, written and updated by the Betregions Editorial Team, which is responsible for everything published on the site. Each guide shows the date it was last updated. Read how the team works on our editorial team and process page.

How we work

  • Licence information comes from the registers that national regulators publish.
  • Legal and tax points are based on the relevant act, finance law or regulator notice.
  • Welcome offers, payment methods and account details come from operators’ own websites and terms, or from the country-specific offer details operators supply to us as partners.
  • When a figure such as a bonus amount or minimum deposit cannot be confirmed for a country, we describe the offer without it.
  • We do not publish scores or star ratings.

Our editorial policy explains these rules in full, and the editorial team and process page lists what we check before a guide is updated.

How Betregions is funded

Betregions earns commission from bookmakers when readers open an account through some of our links. Our affiliate disclosure explains how this works and which brands appear in our tables.

What we do not do

  • We do not take bets, hold deposits or run a sportsbook. Your account, deposits and withdrawals are always with the bookmaker you choose.
  • We do not sell betting tips, booking codes or “sure odds”.
  • We do not ask for payment from readers.
